Mobilised, not Militant

17/08/2025 - Doug Pors

  1. The Reality of the Battle
  • Spiritual warfare is real — it’s about the rule of our hearts.
  • Our enemy is unrelenting but will not win.
  • We are called to act as a mobilised army in this fight.
  1. Mobilised ≠ Militant
  • Militant = forceful, destructive, life-taking.
  • Mobilised = life-giving, freeing, pointing people to Jesus.
  • Our fight is not against people but against spiritual powers.
  1. How the Battle Began
  • God created us to reign with Him.
  • Humanity rebelled, setting up our own kingdom.
  • Jesus came to restore God’s Kingdom and invite us back under His rule.
  • We join Him in His mission until He returns.
  1. The Great Commission (Matt 28:18–20)
  • Power: All authority belongs to Jesus.
  • Commission: Make disciples, baptise, teach Kingdom love.
  • Presence: Holy Spirit with us always.
  1. Our Calling & Preparation
  • The battle starts inside: confession & repentance heal our hearts.
  • Psalm 51:10 — “Create in me a clean heart…”
  • Don’t fight wounded — deal with what could take you out.
  1. The Armour of God (Eph 6:10–20) Truth — confronts lies.
  • Righteousness — protects the heart.
  • Peace — removes fear.
  • Faith — empowers the doubter.
  • Salvation — gives hope.
  • Word of God — life-giving weapon.
  1. The Power of Prayer. Activates Heaven’s resources.
  • Unites & mobilises the Church.
  • Keeps us in communication with our Commander, Jesus.
  • Prayer changes what we see & experience.
  1. Our Position. We are not alone — Heaven’s armies are with us.
  • We are empowered by the Holy Spirit.
  • We fight from victory, not for victory.
  • We live in the Eternal Now.
