Mother’s Day 2025 – Prophetic Word

11/05/2025 - Ps Jody Destry

To the Mothers, the Grandmothers, the Foster Mothers, the Adoptive Mothers, the Spiritual Mothers, the Mothers-to-be, and the Mothers in waiting— to the women of Discovery Church and beyond –  today, we honour you.

You carry more than roles and responsibilities — you carry the weight and wonder of nurture, faith, intercession, and spiritual legacy.

I believe this is a pregnant season in the Spirit for the women of God in the Church right around the world — a sacred time where new life is forming in the hidden places – in the womb of our hearts:

New dreams taking shape.
New seasons quietly unfolding.
New assignments placed gently in your hands.
New expressions of calling rising to the surface.
New wineskins for what cannot be carried in the old.
New mindsets stretching with faith and trust.
New vision ignited by heaven’s breath.

In the secret, often unseen places, God is entrusting you again to be a carrier of His purposes.
And He sees you.
He sees your faithfulness, your desire, and your hunger for His will.
He sees you in the waiting, and in the wondering.

In the midst of it all —
The in-between, the now-and-not-yet, the letting go —
Grief for what was, or what has not been.
In the release, and in the unknown.
Even here, God is faithful.

The God who formed life in Mary’s womb is the same God forming something in you.
He is not rushed. He is not absent. He is near — gently nurturing His purposes within you.

He has seen your faithfulness in small things.
He has heard your whispered prayers in the night.
He has felt your hunger for more — even when “more” felt out of reach.
He has honoured the tears you haven’t told anyone about.
And He smiles over your surrender.

One of the most beautiful images of God we see in Scripture is that of a midwife —
The One who comes close in the labour of change,
The One who does not leave when it’s painful,
The One who knows when to wait and when to call forth what is ready.
He is the Midwife of all things new.

And just like Mary — a young, unknown girl from Nazareth — you are seen, chosen, and entrusted. Not because you feel ready, but because your heart is open. When the angel brought Mary news of her divine assignment, she responded not with certainty, but with surrender:

“Let it be to me according to your Word.” — her quiet prayer.

A simple, humble “yes” that changed everything.
And today, in this season — whatever it may look like for you — I believe God is inviting you to posture yourself like Mary:
Open-hearted.
Soft-spirited.
Willing to partner with the Spirit in what is forming and unfolding within you.

You don’t need to force it.
You don’t need to prove anything.
You are not behind.
You are not overlooked.

You are being invited to collaborate with God in the deep, sacred work He is doing — right where you are, right in the middle of your real, everyday life – mess and all.

So may you walk this season with joy, not pressure.
With peace, not striving.
With hope, even if you’re still waiting.
